Sometimes you just think nature fucks with you. Despite finding tons last year, I hadn't found a single rough green snake this year. And I've spent hours searching fruitlessly for them. HOURS UPON HOURS.

AND THEN I FOUND ONE!

GREEN SNAKE

A little baby green snake! It was just sleeping on some branches, twisted around like a Celtic knot. It wasn't particularly pleased to be woken, but didn't seem too freaked out. And because I am awesome, I was actually the first one to see it.

GREEN SNAKE

VICTORY IS SWEET.

O.M.G.

It is the cutest snakelet EVER. Clearly it recognized your awesomeness and let you find it.

I know! So tiny and wee! I pretty much squealed and jumped up and down at both the cuteness and finally finding one.

I admire your restraint in not taking it home.

...unless you did take it home.

SO TEENY. And GREEN.

I had a hard time leaving the bush and not just watching it forever and ever. So cute.

Re. taking it home, I would have been tempted, but it makes me happier to see it wriggle away in the wild. Then again I am so possessive of my field sites, that as far as my coveting is concerned, it is in my domain!
